The Nutcracker

It's that time of year again. The time to see the classic tale of The Nutcracker. Too bad I did not get to see a live performance this year of one of my holiday favourites. I love the dancing and the music. It's even better to see an actual classic performance as opposed to some of the more modern renditions of this ballet.
Glad to see it in full tonight on Ovation with the Royal Ballet of London from the Royal Opera House. Tommorrow night they will feature the Bolshoi ballet of this classic. Looking forward to it.

Vintage deco

I have always loved beautiful bottles be it just regular or perfume bottles. I love this sweet little vintage Art Deco bottle that I found at a shop in Portobello Road. The colours really come alive on a very sunny day.
I am also wanting to find a nice Shalimar bottle. These bottles make nice decorative pieces.

Parisian couture fashion sketches

These fashion posters are absolutely awesome! I saw them the last time I was in Paris and did not bother to get them so of course this was a must to find on this visit. I am planning to put them around my new Dallas Parisian-Turkish themed apartment in autumn.

Seeing Parisian art

Next week I am back in Paris and I am really hoping I can get around to seeing the art of this wonderful city of art and lights. The last time we visited the Louvre and maybe we will go again should time permit. This time I will be visiting the Musee d'Orsay (heard it's one you don't want to miss).
We will also be heading out to visit Versailles Palace. Really looking forward to this part of the visit. Then I wanted to see Opera Garnier. I have been keen on seeing this place since Jody Watley's, Still a Thrill video many many years ago. The buildings in this magnificant city are a true work of art in their own right. Paris hear we come!
